Apparently it was very feisty, and didn't like being shooed off the roof.

Amy! Brian and I are moving out of the house, and we're working on getting rid of our food and whatnot. And what is in our pile of food to get rid of, but a can of corn chowder, passed down to us from you. I remember you going, 'I don't know why I bought corn chowder.' and I thought, 'oh, I'm sure I'll eat that at some point.' Over six months later, this has not happened. Anyway, hope things are good in the new place! If you're ever in NC, come stay with us!
